I voted for both as well. George II seemed less apt to be sneaky - he seemed more genuine. But the way he's acted afterward tells me that he was being sneaky. Just by his associations, I can tell. I was somewhat idealistic and naive. Voted for John Anderson instead of Reagan. Like I was with Trump, I was impressed by Reagan.

The canoe is owned by a racer, just not by me. Our friend, who lives in the Spokane area and gets us back into the wild of beaver territory when he comes up to visit, did a trade with us to go from Grumman canoe to Grumman Sportboat. You can paddle or row it. Haven't put a motor on it, but there's that option. (Interesting coincidence - Harry Vox once worked at Grumman aerospace.)

Paddling is unusual for us, but usually the highlight of a trip. Most of our time is in powered craft. Takes a lot of hand labor just to maintain though.

VSO does some snagging at a dead-end salmon fishery. "Meat fishing" is what we call it. I lost interest in fishing somewhat after my dad went overboard on it. Too many hours spent waiting... It's worse now.

Speaking of too much waiting: Public Service Announcement to Durham, et al

I forgot about Reagan's "11th Commandment". I'll take MTG's view over Reagan's. I didn't like RINOs like Romney criticizing conservatives, but conservatives criticizing RINOs to help defeat the UniParty is necessary. The UniParty is just Progressivism slowed down a bit. We need Correctionism - negative feedback instead of continually feeding the beast with capitulation. The feedback control loop has to be tweaked - a lot. Better to do it in the political arena. As Elon Musk said, it's a shocking sensation to be punched in the face. We don't want to go there.
