All of these are great thoughts and great principles. But, they’re all broken. With generation after generation of ambitious, power loving politicians - it was inevitable. What’s next - who knows. Ronald Reagan - and more recently Donald Trump - proved that renewal is possible, that appeals to a nation's patriotic feelings can be effective. But, plenty of powerful individuals and classes fight back hard for their established spots in the pecking order.
