China and the Omicron variant
or
Gone yesterday, here today

I am responding to a post I made awhile ago about China being in a very bad place soon.
The woe that Hong Kong is currently experiencing is going to be a sideshow.
Draconian control stopped the delta variant in mainland China but it has no chance against the Omicron.
The lockdowns will not work, the virus will spread and the results will be...well, horrific, that word works.
The major problem will be the fact the Sinovac vaccine just isn't very effective.
Put that together with the same type of scenario we are seeing in Hong Kong and it will be a disaster.
The sheer number of infections is going to be a hammer of immense size with unbelievable force.
China has many of the same issues as Hong Kong.

I suppose it is pointless stating again that refusing to respect the power of this virus is a major issue.
Every time we discount reality and pretend we have it covered we will fail.
Humanity is about to get another spanking in China and we are all going to be affected.
I think the world will have to pull together to stay afloat.

Beijing
or
Lockdown

The post I am responding to was made in February.
The progress of the pandemic is becoming clearer.

It has been two and a half months, I think Beijing will be in lockdown soon.
The cities in the west will be involved soon as well.
China's zero tolerance policy will have to end soon.
The situation in China will be very similar to beginning of the pandemic.
The vulnerability of the older population is going to be a big factor.
Even allowing for the efficacy of three Sinopharm doses the situation is going to be dire.

China's woes are from the CCP not from a flu virus. Zero Covid makes as much sense as antigravity
