Why would anyone make an offer for GMD today? Because it has the goods in the ground at the Discovery and at the Nicholas properties and, the G10s, pyropes and olivine minerals at the Royce property strongly indicate the presence of kimberlites and diamonds. I myself had been up at the Discovery site together with a group of other visitors and had personally observed what Cal Powers had observed (see preceding post). Many seniors have shown interest in GMD for about a year before the recent GMD crisis occurred, and they have been keeping themselves up to speed by visiting the GMD mine site regularly. And I won't be surprised if some of them already have done reserve calculations of their own based on GMD drill data. I understand GMD reserve calculations will be released next week. (The two independent reserve calculations done by Giroux and by Reeseman (sp?) had been received by GMD and, I believe, Val Pratico, GMD's chief geologist, has been checking his own calculations. It would be interesting to see how the reserve calculations will affect the stock if they were released on Monday, 9th February when trading of GMD resumes. Incredibly as it may seem, a friend of mine told me that someone consulted an Oracle at Sedona, Arizona, as to which mining company might want to buy or take over GMD. As expected, the Oracle gave cryptic, if not gibberish-type answers. I was told the conversation went as follows:- Seeker: Who will want to buy or takeover GMD? Oracle: ASK THEEMO? Seeker: Please spell the name. Oracle: T H E E M O Seeker to friend: Theemo sounds like that hockey star, Teemu. Seeker: Who is Theemo? Oracle: HE TAMES OK? Seeker: I don't understand! Oracle: O SEEK MATH!!! Seeker: What the heck d'ya'mean? Come on!!!... Oracle: OK, SHE MET A....... Seeker: What? Ya'mean my girlfriend is seeing someone, Theemo? Damn! I haven't come here to talk about my girlfriend, you ---------------------------------(some unprintable word). Oracle: Salud, mis amigos, Na mas, na mas. Hasta la Vista! The seeker returned home feeling very puzzled and somewhat dejected. But after I told my friend that some of the answers given by the Oracle were all anagrams for a mining company and he had relayed my interpretation to the seeker, the seeker was happy again! I am sure you will be able to figure out the name of that mining company. So, who would want GMD? An Oracle has told us that some company is interested!!!
