Kennedy clearly wasn't coming in but changed his ways a

All that a leader of his country should do is think first and
foremost of what his citizens needs are and should decide policy
based on that.

my focus is on what the u.s. does.
what i've experienced my entire life is u.s. vilification of russia as the evil other, despite who leads russia.
gorbachev was the brief exception, though u.s. response to him was mixed, as i recall.

putin is not the 'problem', imo.
a russia free from u.s. control is the 'problem'.
