Lenin himself was pretty bad, but his late wife actually did what she could to help repressed families. My grandma died when I was 4 so I never knew the whole story. Dad had to live with his great uncle for some time in Moscow. He was originally from Rostov, a Russian city bordering Ukraine. I guess you never know who
turns out to be kind? It probably helped that she was the late wife of who was treated like a god (embalmed corpse on display and crap), so she was probably untouchable by Stalin. Russia had some very courageous and kind people at that time who risked their lives to save others. A code of honor of sorts.
