Iraq was wrong too but for strategic reasons. At the time, there was a looming oil crisis about to occur. Fracking wasn't happening yet and oil reserves were peaking. Mexican oil production had peaked and were on the downside. The Saudies were pumping water into their wells trying to float the rest of the oil out. Predictions were we were going to be in real trouble in the next 10 years. 9/11 provided an excuse to go take the last, best oil region in the world. Saddam Hussein wanted to act tough so he claimed to have weapons he didn't have and played right into it. We were being a bully/thief and it was wrong but at least it was for national strategic reasons. Clinton went into Bosnia only to create a distraction from his cigar antics. Bosnia had been going on for years but no one cared until he needed somewhere to avert attention. Obama got his peace prize then drone bombed all over the place. I'm not sure what he was after in Kenya. Rare earth minerals or what? Syria? Libya? We were fracking by then so it wasn't oil. Yes, both parties are bad but it's worse in my opinion to screw over the people you are sending to do your dirty work and it's worse to risk lives for a diversion than for the benefit of your country be it financial, security, materials etc. I agreed with Ron Paul that we should bring all our troops home, shut our overseas bases and stop being the world policeman. I say take it a step further and put them on our border.
