I'm libertarian in the sense that we need to go back to the constitution as written. The federal government shouldn't be involved in 80% of what they do today.
The individual states are supposed to be doing most things and it makes sense to manage at the lowest level possible.
Who knows if someone applying for financial assistance really needs it or is scamming the system? A national agency or a local community organization? I see the same people over and over on the local community pages looking for handouts but then see them going to concerts, etc.
They claimed 9/11 because we had too many agencies with pieces of information not sharing with each other so what did we do? We created a new agency that spends trillions and they still don't talk to each other. We are no safer now than before. I see vulnerabilities everywhere. I would have no problem creating havoc if I were so inclined. My buddy and I were on a team to assess risks when I was still in. They kicked us out after we penetrated the top security facilities in a matter of minutes during an exercise because it made them look bad. It's all about the illusion of safety for the public, not actually being safe.
We could easily slash most of the ever expanding federal government. Most of them are inefficient, staffed by lazy morons and shouldn't even exist according to the constitution. The waste is mind boggling. Layers upon layers of excessive middle management all holding death by PowerPoint meetings and trying to justify increasing next year's budget.
