Cliff Mass indeed has high credibility from my perspective. He probably doesn't have much presence in California.

Our local grass/weeds are very healthy and tall which suggests they have been getting nightly moisture from the air. Some rain would be nice.

Got some nice turns up in Montana last week.

Finally a small uptick today:

javareports (ca.gov)

This weather came as snow in the mountains so will add liquid to the runoff later on. Its been a very dry two months. Normally January and February are our biggest months of moisture precipitation in Northern Calif.

We are also freezing our bones today and tonight.

My phone is predicting a low around 3 degrees F tonight, in the wee hours of tomorrow morning for the west shore of Tahoe. Should make the local plumbers happy with water pipes bursting.

Drove up here to check on my place and get the firebox going!
