Now I get these kits for free, many working people have to test every day. I only test as I am a member of men’s shed group and leader is father of Landlord and also retired MD. We had many discussions, but best practice is I test (we all test) before meetings. Also met up with ex colleague from Semiconductors days who wife works i pharmacy, got lots of lowdown on the tests and Covid generally. Basically, the tests work OK but you can have symptoms and be spreading for two days before they turn positive. Also cases of "antivaxxers" catching Covid, in some cases whole families, getting very ill with Covid and end up in hospital. It would also be true to say that colleague also has (as many do imho) have only a one dimensional understanding of Covid. To vax or not to vax. Dr Malone on Rogan was right imho. Mass hypnosis event. Regarding HK, OK being a property owner, I can see the advantages of win win situation. In the same position I would only put in a token argument against. However, I see it as winning battle (more molah) but losing war. Loss of economy and quality of life. I am fairly sure this testing & quarantine idea is a bit like cleaning all the dust particles out of your room without using hepa filters. All you will be doing is removing some dust but otherwise just stirring up the pot. There will be zero chance of separating clean from infected, and the virus will just blow all over HK anyway ... visiting all hotels. However, after token protest to acknowledge reality, "Yes I'll will take those payments for rented accommodation, yes glad to be assistance in fighting on behalf of government mandate". If in doubt, often the safe option is take the money, especially if it improves ones standing with the authorities. Zero point fighting losing battle, that is a sincere belief of mine. And we struggle onwards -g-
