ggersh, it seems that you are very naive regarding the issues of "Young Leaders" it was practiced long ago when Stalin was still alive and threatening a communist regime based on his interpretation over ALL the world. Similar movement was also in Israel in 1961 when I arrived to that country!!! - so forget about free thinking education of the youth. I personally as a kid was "admitted" in the "pioneer" movement do not remember at which age in Romania, was forced to recite with my fellow pupils all kind of pro- regime and pro-dictator slogans every morning, the RED pioneer cravate carefully ironed and wear . When graduating to high-school you entered the rows of the "Young Communists" or from what I remember "Komsomol" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Komsomol) or the All-Union Leninist Young Communist League with the Communist Leninist-Marxism ideology, from this group the cadre of the former KGB or NKVD and the like was recruited. I was supposed to join such institution way far from home at age 14 - luckily my dad informed the local Security Service that we are going to Immigrate to Israel which had a similar Zionist organization but instead of RED the cravat was BLUE with very similar slogans as in communist Romania and same brainwash related to the ZIONIST movement and of course 1 month youth (age 14 to 17) military training and work for free for one month in a kibbutz every year. As a side remark - for those not familiar with the Hebrew Bible IMHO the first real communist was the Prophet Amos, and later Joshua of Nazareth - otherwise known as Jesus Christ - the Last Supper - was actually the Jewish Passover with all the related heritage including breaking bred -or the Matza - and sharing it with all those at the table
