am fairly sure that sinking the boat into the water that cannot put out lithium fires would put out the same lithium fire, by cutting the supply chain to everything else that sustains a fire

'they', the coast guard etc should send in some drones, flying, wheeling, and walking ones, to check matters out

but yes, a mess

once upon a time we had a fire in the home, luckily 'only' unused downstairs studio apt adjacent to my study due to a malfunctioning dehumidifier, and the fine soot from the melt covered the entirety of the studio wall to wall and ceiling to floor, everywhere, a thin black layer

luckily the connecting door to my study was closed, else ... ouch

the fix was to gut the apt and re-do the whole area as the dance studio for the coconut, a win win outcome
