Here in Commiefornia, gas is over $5.00 in some places. Of course, the government is getting a huge piece of the action.

And the higher the fuel price, the bigger the piece of the action. On top of all the other taxes and special and expensive blending requirements, CA charges a sales tax on gasoline.

Do the math. For example, 10% of $5.00 a gallon is a lot more than 10% of $3.00. Pretty good scam, and I bet most motorists there have no idea..

On a personal note, it's no skin off my nose as I've made more $$ on my oil stock holdings than I've paid in higher pump prices. And of course, rich greenies in their EVs don't pay any road taxes, so they can laugh at the lowly hoi polloi struggling with the higher prices..
