How is the crisis in Asia managements fault?? How they handle it and respond to it is another story for another day. I do find the analyst are cutting estimates far below what management used for a guideline. That intrigues me. After the dust settles, I just might buy a large block as I feel that the company will beat $.17 or even $.20 for the time being.

As to Buffet, what I'm contending and have contended for some time; he isn't buying stock apparently. I actually may have bot bonds before he did, but I haven't bot silver, nor will I. Maybe mining stock. It interesting that it isn't gold.

He sent a message last year with the bonds, I think their is another message this year. Think what would happen if MSFT as a slowdown or falls a few pennies short........ Now factor in stalwarts such as IBM, P&G, Gillete, or any multinationals. Then look at oil co's. IF there earnings are impacted, they comprise a large protion of OEX (S&P 100). Now you are talking indexes.

Could be a rough Q or 2, so..... CAVEAT ACTOR!!

PS: HAs anyone seen Samsungs commericials?? Looks like a Q phone,,,er MOT phone.

Your question: "I take it then that you are okay with Q management on this one, i.e., happens in the best of well managed companies?"

My answer: Yes and no. The possibility is totally there. My question and possibly point is that it is possible that things that are out of their control are delaying them. HOWEVER, the question is: can a well run management team plan for stuff like that? I think that the answer is "no" but I don't know. With development cycles as short as they are in this industry (and technology in general) this is definately a risk that everyone runs. Also they are in a new technology that BEGS for questions from a burocrat that is used to seeing the same old, same old. In other words, it is possible that QCOM got ahead of the FCC and the FCC didn't understand or like their answers.
