I marvel at your seemingly bottomless well of patience! If you waited this long, you're probably more likely to see a turnaround in late 1998, than at any time in the previous 4 years. I held for about 9 months or so, and just couldn't take it anymore!

I also had Novell at a loss for 1+ years. Finally sold last year on a run up for a tax offset loss. Whether it will get to where you bought it no one knows however the stock appears to cycle from 6-9 about every quarter. You may be able to make up your loss by additional short term plays buying in 6 range and selling higher.
