I am inclined to agree with him with the caveat that Putin does have some troops with experience in Syria. Dunno if any are being used in Ukraine, though. If Russia bogs down in Ukraine, Putin is dead. Literally. This is a huge gamble for him. He needs quick and clean. Bogged down and messy means defeat.
