Lawrence -

I'd swear I've had this conversation before. I listened to the RDRT CC again, and they said 2.8GB qual at QNTM, no reference to a 2.5GB head. I've emailed RDRT for confirmation. I think the 10k has a typo or something has changed since the FY97 10k, but hopefully RDRT IR can clear it up. I'm 99% certain the 5 customers for the 2.8GB head are WDC, Maxtor, Samsung, SEG and QNTM.

You're right, the Bigfoot is certainly mainstream for the $1k PC... Sorry, semantics I guess, I should have just said niche products, but from the way things have gone recently, maybe the $1k PC is becoming the primary PC... BTW, in the recent Best Buy Ad today I saw the latest 333MHz Compaq comes with a 8.0GB DD... QNTM is the only one I know of that makes an 8.GB. Can anyone think of any others? If this is the TX then I'm wrong in saying these are for the $1k PCs too. So, I take it all back!
