Ibexx - Re: "And one of his current recommendations, Informix, proved that he remains an excellent contrarian indicator."

You should check his (Michael Murphy) track record on Cirrus Logic - one apology after another - but always recommending it!

Mohan and Ibexx,

You are welcome, I thought the perspective that tech was safer than "blue chip" was interesting, though not really new to those who have read this thread for some time. Wonder how long it will take for tech to become "blue chip", by that time I suppose most of us will have moved on to something else (or be dead <g>).

Ibexx, I understand your point of view on M. Murphy, especially with Informax, but he has come through with some winners. As a subscriber to his news letter, I have done well with three, LSI, SUNW, and Adobe. Someone on this thread mentioned that he did not recommend INTEL. Not true, it was recommended as a buy at $75 or better in his 1/9/98 news letter. In all fairness, I have to give credit where credit is due.

As a trader using covered calls and short puts, I like to depend on my on judgments first. JMHO
