I am just wondering what you guys thought about a takeover by another company? Let's get real! This topic seems to come up on every thread whenever a stock's price has a major retrenchment. I guess it's a kind of wishful thinking on the part of those who got in at the high point & are hoping for something to happen that will help them get recoup their losses quickly or by bottom fishing short-term traders hoping for a quick profit.

In the case of NN I think we can safely say it ain't gonna happen. TM holds around 25% of the stock & he is much more interested in building and running a company than he is in making a quick buck by selling out. He's already been there and done that. Those investors with a long term view realize that the potential for profit is much greater if NN stays independent. If they are taken over by a larger company, you might make a quick 1-time gain, but then you have to start over, evaluating the new combined companies as if it was a new investment. If it doesn't look as good as something else, you then have to sell (with all the attendant tax consequences) so you can reinvest your money into something with better potential.
