<..Do you know anything about Intermedia Communications <ICIX>?..>

I know they bought Digex (an ISP that some like, but which I don't)

But I poked around a bit on ICIX - as fiber-based CLECs with ISPs ARE a compelling story these days.

According to First Call: 76% owned by institutions (not so good as more downside in distribution than in further accumulation) and 61% LT debt to market cap of (as you say) ~$1.1B

They report soon and are expected to lose <$3.15> for Q4 and <$10.71> for the year. 98 is expecting a loss of <$10.26> 12 month TTM revenues were $204MM, up over 175% from previous 12 months.

We could pick this up in SI's inactive ICIX thread.

Steve

Kingpin,

I have personal experience with ICIX. They supply the interlata (ouit of state) telecom for the Frame Relay data network that my company uses. I have worked with them for 2 years and BellSouth as a local provider and contact point. I can't say enough good things about them. I just wish I had bought their stock when it was $12. I have coordinated the entire network and manage it, so I do have the experience with the company. I asked my local BellSouth rep. a few weeks ago, how ICIX was doing. The reply was that they were doing fantastic and growing like gangbusters.

For what its worth, the ICIX rep. that I deal with, told me that he was holding until $100.
