I don't see any American cities looking like what Putin did in Ukraine.

'Trump's brain isn't normal': Conservative trashes 'deranged' former president for Putin praise

Tom Boggioni
February 26, 2022

In a blunt-talking column for the Daily Beast, conservative columnist Matt Lewis ripped into Donald Trump, claiming the former president lives in some sort of "sick universe" after he praised Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine.

Lewis, who has long been a critic of Trump, hammered the former president and insisted Trump's praise of the brutal Russian president -- along his history of expressing his admiration for other violent dictators -- is "deranged" and should be cause enough to bar him from ever setting foot in the Oval Office again.

Noting Trump described the invasion of Ukraine by Putin as an act of "genius," Lewis wrote, "A normal person might condemn Putin’s illegal and immoral invasion and the shameful propaganda that sought to justify it; Trump’s first impulse was to praise how well Putin lied about the bogus pretext."

Pointing out that Trump -- and former secretary of state Mike Pompeo -- approved of the technical aspects of the invasion without "technically" endorsing it, Lewis asked, "So what explains Trump’s deranged interpretation of events?"

The answer, he suggested, is, "Trump has a soft spot for authoritarians and strongmen who use violence."

"This is, after all, the same guy who said of Saddam Hussein, 'He was a bad guy, really bad guy, but you know what he did well? He killed terrorists. He did that so good,'" the columnist recalled. "Of North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un, Trump said, 'It’s incredible. He wiped out the uncle, he wiped out this one, that one. I mean this guy doesn’t play games. And we can’t play games with him.'""Trump’s brain isn’t normal. He majors in the minors and minors in the majors. He fetishizes feats of strength and obsesses over “process”—how somebody does something—while downplaying the much larger question—should they be doing this in the first place?" he wrote. "At this point, I am sick of debating whether Trump’s praise for Putin is strategic or simply the product of a twisted mind. Either option is disqualifying."

"This is the millionth reason why Trump should never again be allowed within 100 miles of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue," he added before concluding, "If you think Citizen Trump poses a threat to the current world order, just imagine how dangerous President Trump would be in the White House again."

Marjorie Taylor Greene Speaks at White Nationalist Conference Where Crowd Cheers Russia and Host Praises Hitler
By Michael LucianoFeb 25th, 2022

But this party hates Cheney but loves Marje three names.
. How could they be more vile?

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) spoke at the America First Political Action Conference on Friday.

AFPAC is led by white nationalist Nick Fuentes, who told the crowd, “Our secret sauce here – it’s these young, White men.”

The Anti-Defamation League has described Fuentes as “a white supremacist leader and organizer and podcaster who seeks to forge a white nationalist alternative to the mainstream GOP.”

Fuentes’ line about young White men received hoots and hollers of approval.

“America and the world has forgotten about them, but not us,” he continued. “You know, they say about America, diversity is our strength, you know? And I look at China, I look at Russia, who – can we give a round of applause for Russia?”

The crowd obliged and raucously cheered the nuclear power that launched an unprovoked invasion of Ukraine this week. Some in the audience began chanting, “Putin, Putin,” to which Fuentes replied, “Absolutely, absolutely.”

In one clip posted to Twitter, Greene said, “I have been attacked more than any other freshman member of congress in United States history.”

In another, Fuentes said, “Now they’re going on about Russia and Vladimir Putin is Hitler they say that’s not a good thing.”

Greene complained that Twitter had banned her personal account “because I tweeted out the truth about Covid-19.”

Fuentes is the leader of the so-called “groyper” movement – a collection of internet trolls that attempts to inject far-right and white nationalist rhetoric into mainstream conservatism. He has been subpoenaed by the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection.

Greene is the second sitting member of Congress known to address AFPAC. In 2021, Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) of Arizona gave the keynote address.

Rick Wilson Goes Off on Trump & GOP Over Putin Support: ‘They Don’t Believe Their Own Bullsh*t, They Believe In Power’
By Tommy ChristopherFeb 26th, 2022

0 seconds of 2 minutes, 27 secondsVolume 90%

Republican strategist and Lincoln Project honcho Rick Wilson told Salon’s Dean Obeidallah that former President Donald Trump and the Republican Party are attracted to Vladimir Putin because they only “believe in power.”

On Friday, the host of The Dean Obeidallah Show, interviewed Wilson for his Salon interview series, and the outspoken political operative pulled no punches in his assessment of the current party’s apparent affinity for Putin:

Rick Wilson: Putin has this deep appeal to the modern Republican Party, because again, he believes in power, he believes in wealth, he believes in control. I tell my progressive and Democratic friends this all the time, I know some of you have this college dorm room desire to try true socialism somewhere, sometime, these people are not that. They are pure authoritarian kleptocrats.

The Republican Party, it appeals to them because what is Trump? He’s a pure authoritarian kleptocrat. He does what he wants, helps his friends, makes a lot of money, that’s the world they’re trying to build. So that’s why the Democrats need to fight the 2022 race, and thence 2024, with a pure understanding of who those people are and an understanding that they view the world in a very cold, clear-eyed, unequivocal way. They’re not ever fooled by their own bullshit, they don’t ever believe their own bullshit, believe, trust me. These guys don’t believe in any of this stuff, they believe in power…

The difference between America in this moment in time and America in the past is that no matter what political party they were in, Truman, Ike, JFK, LBJ, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Bush, Reagan, anybody would have said, “Hey, an authoritarian dictatorship invading a sovereign nation is a bad thing, especially in the heart of Europe. This is a terrible outcome and America will be safer if we reinforce our alliances and stand up against this kind of behavior.”

But now we have an entire political party that at best shrugs it off, at best goes, “Eh, it’s his business, it’s his backyard.” If Mexico invaded Arizona and said, “These people are more like us in Arizona than they are like the rest of America, we have a traditional historic relationship here.” That is the same exact argument Putin is using right now. I guarantee you there would be blood in the streets from those folks if that happened.

Watch above via Salon.
