Maybe worthy of mention.. Currently I am in Saranda Albania, a typical seasonal Adriatic resort town. I have to walk a bit, but not far, to get my stuff as most stores & restaurants are not open. Of mention my vibrant Chicago community back then, I have witnessed a few places like that here in S.E.Europe, notably Skolder Albania & Istanbul Turkey.. predominantly large Muslim populations. The city scenes are vibrant.. barber shops, bakeries, restaurants, the bars.. beers/ coffee/ tea are busy. One can sit here for hours nursing their drink.. no hurry. I'm comfortable being here. Probably most important, the businesses are local, the businesses are prospering.. it does seem as if forever. Somehow we forfeited that over the years.
