It would be wise for all of us to show up, unlike Lil Marco who cannot waste the time getting tested for COVID to be there. Biden will have a lot to say. Imagine now, if you will, a second term for Donald Trump. What "allies" would HE be talking to? Kim Jong-un? Xi Jinping? Vladimir Putin? The rest of whom were supposed to be our allies were laughing at him the last time he got together with them. And what message would HE be giving in his State of the Union? The same issues would be there for trumpy as they are for Biden - the pandemic, vaccinations, rising inflation, war in Ukraine, gas prices. But we would be seeing a different side of those issues. While trumpy would be claiming credit for any successes and blaming someone else for any failures, we all remember how he handled each of these issues when the ball WAS in his court. He called the pandemic a hoax. He forced the states to handle the virus on their own while he stood back and claimed it was much ado about nothing. He was for vaccines if they could be gotten out by election day, then against them if Biden might get any credit, and once again for them when it was finally being shown that they were extremely effective. Inflation has always been on the rise. The big jump this year in inflation had much to do with recovering from the slowdown, loss of jobs, and devastation caused by the pandemic. Presidents do not have a direct influence into inflation being low except to artificially suppress it, which can only last for so long before, as we now see, it is released and takes off like wildfire. Gas prices can be explained the same as inflation, But add to that, the inevitable war in Ukraine with the disruption of the world's oil flow and you have $5 gas and rising. No way around it. And finally to the war in Ukraine. As chummy as trumpy was with Putin, as much as he had secret meetings with him without any documentation, as subservient to Putin that trumpy was, the fact that he tried to withhold military aide to Ukraine, the fact that he took Putin's side over our own intel, and finally with the history of trumpy destroying the Kurds in Syria to the advantage of Russia, we can all pretty much sum up what his response to the conflict in Ukraine would be. He would have put his blessing on the occupation, severed all ties with Ukraine, attempted to disband NATO and then blame our European allies for their silly ideas of sovereignty and self defense against Russia and not bowing to "America First". And all the while, the GOP would be standing and applauding him at every turn. I will be watching the State of the Union address tonight to see Biden honestly address all these issues with the same degree of leadership that most of our past presidents have, save for trumpy. And I will vow that as long as the GOP retains the fools that make up that party right now, I will be voting against them at every turn until there are no longer any of these misogynistic, antisemitic, white national loving, bigots left in that party. If we have to bury that party to save it, then so be it. It all starts with their present leader, Donald J. Trump.
