Sankar,

The ban on carrying Rp. overseas has been in effect for a few
weeks. Tales of body searches and confiscations are quite
common.

The bankruptcy law in Indonesia is still murky, even though
there have been attempts to bring it up to date due to current
crisis, nothing is yet set in stone. Even when it is officially
announced, I (like many others who have seen how wheel of
justice works in Indonesia) would like to see the implementation
before I rely on it. (Besides, in Indonesia, more often than
not, it is not what the law says, but it is who you know
which is more important.)

I agree that Rp. is undervalue, however, the crisis in Indonesia
has evolved from one of merely economics. It will be awhile
before things are sorted out.
