Looks like a grand project.

My shipment of four new classic style keyboards are in. Membrane only keyboard, but should be lasting a while. I could sell two of them locally on FB for double the price I would say, as is. Who knows down the road ?

The big problem with keyboards is they gum up with not nice guff under the keys over a period of time. Six months is probably the time limit with daily use. When I worked in the call centers this was a massive problem, as keyboards had to be shared between employees and shifts.

Pre Covid, operators would be jammed in minimum space for max efficiency and if you had a cold or flu expected to come to work. Most workers were women, and most have kids in school. Minimum breaks meant food and drink on the premises. All factors combined meant people were ill a lot of the time.

Post Covid fixed all that. Gone from one extreme to the other.

Keyboards are still a problem, and I am now fully retired. Cleaning of keyboards is a fairly prominent item on the action graph. After watching some utubes, I have my cleaning procedure down pat, using a dishwasher and a meshed cutlery container with mesh size smaller then the keys. It's a fairly time consuming and manual procedure, removing and replacing all the keys, best take photo beforehand, but a worthy one imho. It's nice to have an "as new" keyboard. Could just throwaway and replace, membrane keyboards are the cheapest. I prefer to recycle though, and like to stay as independent of the supply chain as possible.

Just watched this from Jordan Peterson. Not much surprised. Not being able to visit a sick mother would a issue of concern flagged in my book.
