Kenneth; Thanx for the url, I had CPQ on my radar screen too, but was to busy and to low on powder at the time to pull the trigger. Now with gettng ready to go to sea, I'm droping a lot of stocks..last OCT caught me offshore and not able to do anything..had I been in Sept I may have caught it, and got out early myself. But I was doing an extended trip and wishing things well. I limited the damage by catching the top of DEC5th bubble and getting out of most..but had to hang on and average down on one till it most drove me nuts. Managed to clear it with a tiny profit last week. Last year I was in OAKSX it did real well..had I came out in SEPT I'd been much more ahead..but even waiting till DEC I didn't do to bad with it. I only have one share of it now, as it's like just floundering around now. It's closed to new investors so I hang onto the one share, maybe in six months or next year it'll get it's act together again. Some times last years big runners, are this years poor preformers, as their holdings wind up on the high side. You got to watch funds like stocks, but seldom will you take a big hit, like you can with a stock. The exception being if you get into sector funds, them you have to watch very close, such as tech, oil, banks, gold etc. Take UNWPX it's a gold fund and up 20% in less than a month, I knew it was going to go up too..but was using my powder playing SPY till last week, by then the train had pulled out of the station, and while I did ok with spy, it was not any 20% , now I'm not sure I want to hop on the gold wagon, UNWPX can lose fast too..you have to watch gold prices day by day to play her and get out fast if gold drops. Some WEBs EWM and EWS have done good to..around 30% to 40% in a month but are over bought now. Korea is over bought to, CEF and CF, are closed end funds you could have got cheap a month ago, but are now at a premium, and the Won is far from stable. Jim
