I believe Trump's intentions in 2016 were more genuinely leaning towards running the country like a business, as it needs to be. He never expected to win. Nobody ever thought he had a chance. It shocked the nation and the world After landing the gig, he was in well over his head and quickly discovered politics was not his bailiwick. But being the opportunist he is, he wasted no time appointing every family member he could to grab as much as they could. Everything else he did was geared towards galvanizing his base and hopefully building a dynasty and adding a gold plated TRUMP sign to the White House portico, grooming Jr for 2024- or Ivana. He, like Obama and pretty much anyone else who gains power, was corrupted.
