With all commodities, producers will typically buy futures 12-months out, so today's prices won't come into play for another 12-months. Higher fuel prices may be cushioned a bit in the near term by tax refunds, which are up a bit this year. However, come May, folks are likely to cut back on discretionary spending, including summer vacations. In the 1991 Canadian recession, many consumers dropped down from name brand groceries to generics and store brands like President's Choice. Something similar happened in the US during the financial crisis in 2008. I don't know if we are going to see people switch from their orgasmic, almond butter to something like grape jelly, but maybe that's on deck with soaring food prices.

Forget what I said about MSFT. I just looked at max pain and it looks like they'll want it around 296 by tomorrow close. Too many calls above 300 and a bunch over 297.50 even compared to puts.

Apparently water got into the motor over the winter and it is all rusted up inside. I just got the pump assembly out and the cover off the motor. Not sure if it will clean up and work or I'll have to replace it. I'm kinda hoping it can't be saved. I saw online I can upgrade to a stronger, faster pump for about double of just a replacement motor would cost. I like upgrades. What happened to the rally. The permabulls were all out chest thumping this morning.
