WFoL, you were right. The Snake Island defenders, the ones who were famous for saying, "Russian warship, go FUCK yourself," were indeed taken prisoner instead of killed in action. Snake Island sailors freed in Ukraine war prisoner exchange, says Kyiv \| Euronews What's interesting, though, is that the Russians decided to let them go in exchange for a handful of Russian conscripts. Someone in the Russian command should have known that these POWs would be hailed as heroes when they return to Kyiv. The Russians should have demanded more for their release.
