Lee, take care of those eyes! A good welding helmet is worth its weight in gold!

The eye tests at the DMV's are not very hard to pass. The bar is intentionally set low for some reason.

I recall I was watching a guy weld a part on a mower 40-years ago, and he chided me and told me not to look at the torch. He said I'd be up at midnight peeling potatoes and putting them over my eyes if I did because they'd be on fire.

I never understood why people would weld without goggles or a helmet and just look away while they did it.

When a couple of our guys were welding pallet racking supports in our new warehouses 30-years ago, I was surprised that they got tan from the welding. Even the guy from Eritrea was a lot darker on the parts of his body that were exposed to the MIG welding. The poor guy died of a heart attack a few years later at age 38. Nice guy, gone way too young.
