TJ history is always written by winner not the losers. I started to get interested tin the Hebrew Bible in NYC when waiting for meetings with attorneys related to work - many where observant Jews and had the Hebrew bible and the "Talmud" and "Mishna" in their offices - huge amount of information - slowly I started to like reading it from time to time - the book besides history contains a lot about the human nature and even if genetics where not invented at that time it discuss this also. As substitute teacher I mentioned the "Book of Job" highly recommend to read it - the book is timeless. Also the various prophets are interesting but you need a special mindset of 3000 years old at the time it was written to understand the writers. The prophet Amos was the first true communist.
