Sunw's lonely battle:

after dec acquisition, cpq will already licenses two unix versions, one of which is full 64bit (DEC). Why would they pay sunw for Solaris? HWP has their own UNIX. Sunw's vision to license unix is over. Just like their attempt to make a clone market for sparc? Remember that? Ross sure does.

DELL will not license Solaris unless they buy Sunw (which they won't).

PS:

I think we are at the beginning of two things:
1) The bloom is off of JAVA's rose. The press is beginning to finally look beyond the hype. I am reading more and more negative JAVA articles. And I expect to read many more.
2) From now on, people will be focusing on Sunw going it alone. No NT strategy. NO NT integration services. No CONTINGENCY plan for sunw shareholders. Wouldn't it be PRUDENT to at least have a CONTINGENCY plan for you guys. Or is HATING msft more important than preserving shareholder wealth?
