I recently bought an HP Office Jet 9010 and I have been very happy with it. It prints, faxes, and copies.

There are cheaper models than the one I bought.

It replaced and HP printer that I had for over 20 years.

Blessings,
SOJ

Honey Bee, here's my experience.

When I was in real estate, color printing seemed necessary because I would show clients prints of homes on the market. When I retired, I realized I didn't need the hassle of an inkjet printer (clogged cartridges, high cartridge costs, etc.) I got a Brother laser printer and am very happy with it. The laser cartridges seem to last forever, never fail and the printer is reasonable. Black & white is all I need.

Just my 2¢. (This one is around $110.)

I've had a Brother laser printer for a decade. It's been trouble free. The toner cartridge that came with it was small, but still managed to last for years.

Consider cost per page. Between expensive ink and the troubles associated with nozzles clogging, inkjet printers are no bargain. The joy of the initial low price wears off quickly.

Needing special features like color, copying, fax, Wi-Fi, scanning, etc. will limit your choices.
