first thing you can do is to remember the axiom, "in any conflict between two parties, the truth will lie somewhere in the middle". I always try to read as many accounts of the news as possible and not let my personal biases affect the way I view reports. It's not easy, but if you are a truth seeker, try to stay objective. We always tend to block out what our enemies and their supporters say about us, but they are more likely to tell the truth about us and to soft soap anything they say about themselves. We do the same with respect to what we say about them and what we say about our own actions.. A good track record is the master key. unfortunately, if you are just starting out, you do not know who the liars are and who the truth seekers are. In my own experience over the past 8 to 10 years, this guy :"The Saker", through his original blog posts and now through his website, has been the most consistently reliable source for Ukraine news that I have been able to find. If he ever does get anything wrong, he quickly admits it and corrects the info., He has integrity even though I think he is ethnic Russian and his sympathies have fallen with the breakaway republics and ethnic Russians in Eastern Ukraine. Several of our own Russian experts (like Dr Stephen Cohen and Paul Craig Roberts) over the past few years have read and even quoted the guy. thesaker.is You could get a pretty good handle on Ukraine by reading his analysis. The people who do the guest posts on his site are not as reliable, but there can often be good info there as well. If you had been reading The Saker, for example, you would have known about the Biden corruption in Ukraine long before (as in years before) it was ever mentioned anywhere here. You would have also known all about Victoria Nuland and her machinations under Obama to overthrow the Ukraine government in 2014 well before she became a news item here.. You can pretty much forget our own mainstream media. It has become the cesspool of the world for truthful and reliable accounts of any important issue. Worse than the old Pravda during Soviet Union days. Which is a real shame. I used to brag to other people in the world about how our media was some of the best. But over the last 35 years, it has changed and is now a joke. If you want to go through life clueless, believe the garbage our MSM spits out 24 hours a day. Like I said, track record is the master key and our MSM has a horrific track record if you look at what they claimed and what the truth turned out to be.
