who knew that 2022 would be ... how to best put it without violating prime directive of 'remaining agnostic' and guiding principle of 'be open-minded' ... eventful. That's it, 'eventful' is a good word to describe what is currently 'is'

Am looking at tungsten

here be the short and curly

Chinese team develops purest, strongest tungsten material for fusion reactor, military applications
Team at Chinese Academy of Sciences in Hefei says it has produced a large piece of pure tungsten with tensile strength greater than most alloys used today
Applications include use in the US military’s ‘rods of God’ to China’s ‘artificial sun’ reactor

Between China's 1.9M and Russia's 400k tons of tungstan, account for 70% of everything tungsten around the planet.

OPEC does not do that for oil.

North Korea produced more Tungsten than the whole of the N America.

God has a very good sense of humour.

I shall not bother with the rest of the periodic table. Too busy.

In any case one use-case of proof-of-work Tungsten is making fake-gold when wrapped in 100% genuine honest to goodness gold - passes the bite-it test

Because I am agnostic, and remain open-minded, and

(1) Given that my newly acquired but HK-traded but USA-domiciled paper gold (2840.HK / GLD) is showing promise

(2) Also, the HK-traded but Russia-domiciled Rusal (Russian Aluminium) trade is working (0486.HK) for now even as a 21% return over a single weekend cannot be annualised, and in truth very tame given 135% implied vol, IOW ‘not enough yet’ finance.yahoo.com

(3) Have ventured into two other wagers

finance.yahoo.com

finance.yahoo.com
(3-i) Cosco Energy Transport (1138.HK), because it shall perhaps continue to transport trade-balancing US energy to China even if America its own purchases from Russia in favor of Iranian and Venezuelan crude by rehabilitating those two domains on some excuse, and / or get back into the market of state-sanctioned transport of Iranian crude at the parent-level as opposed to at less efficient related-party levels. $ 3.50 is okay for the prospect.
(3-ii) Pacific Basin (2343.HK), a bulk carrier expected to distribute upwards of HK$ 1.2 of dividends, ramped, and ramping, but very cheap at $4.3x. The ships should be shipping lots of goodies here there everywhere given commodity musical chair game is full-on. $4.25 is okay for the risk.
