GS — in that post, I’m trying to understand the big picture. It’s not irrelevant - screwing up the larger picture in this day and age threatens to kill human beings by the hundreds of millions - including our children and grandchildren. It’s very real. Which doesn’t diminish today’s suffering of the Ukrainians - and Russians. A great number of families spend their days in fear of finding out that their sons are not coming back. Much smarter people than yours truly - take Kissinger, for example - spent their lives wrecking their brains trying to understand war - and peace - and trying to design ways for nations how to preserve peace and avoid war. It’s a problem that seems to have no solution. Idle minds, stupid passions… people always have, and probably always will… find reasons to fight and kill each other. We have to keep trying.
