John, Re: "AMD incommunicado",

Surely even you don't believe that AMD and Intel get their competitive updates from analysts. It would be naive to think that Andy and Jerry don't have a very good idea of the status of major projects at the competition as well as a pretty good idea of the cost estimates at the competition (certainly they know much more than the analysts). The valley is not as big as you might think and by the time you see a news release from AMD about improving yields, the stock would already have made its move.

Best Wishes,
MJ

P,
Re -- reasons for AMD not talking to analysts anymore

You should go read their press release carefully. It said they had nothing meaningful to report, and that the analysts would ask the same question about how many K6's they would produce, and that AMD has other business's.

Also given that they have cancelled the cybermax order, it doesn't look good.

Look P, your options have expired worthless. You probably have 100 or 200 shares. Why don't you take your money and go to Vegas, you have a better chance of doubling, tripling your money. Keeping it in AMD and pretending that AMD won't go below book value is hogwash. You'll only lose that money.
