He lived in poverty in El Paso for a long time, hung out with lawyers. One of his friends was part of the Farah blue jean clan, as is one of my buddies. I think he lives not far away from El Paso, in Santa Fe or Tesuque.

I know El Paso very, very well. Gateway to the Big Bend and Northern Mexico, with Juarez in its back yard.

Five generations of my family have stayed at this hotel in El Paso. There’s a ghost that haunts it, supposedly. I was not informed of it as a child, thankfully.
