I think Zeuspaul has experience on other forums where
excluding posters was possible. We should listen
carefully to what he has to say.

Just what does happen, Zeuspaul? And what were the
details on how posters were excluded?

Regards,

Spots

PS. Olympics calling. Signing off for tonight, but a
lively bunch, great posts!

I understand that all messages will appear normally. It is just that not everyone will be reading the same posts or at least reading parts of the same posts. I believe that it violates the basic concept of a thread.

I also see the possibility of misuse. It would give some posters the ability to create a private chat room. I know of one thread in particular where this would happen. There is a consensus between posters that a certain individual is a "jerk". I am certain that these posters would choose to ignore the individual. Should that come to pass I believe the quality of that thread would diminish. I am sure that there are some threads that would benefit.

My concern is that someone may chose not to post. The dissenters are generally outnumbered 10 to 1 on a thread. I believe that we should use caution when making changes in this regard.

I have a gut reaction to concepts which I believe would have the capability of forming an "elite".

I believe there have been some suggestions , such as the preview of a few posts in advance that would give the reader the option of ignoring a post which would have less of a chance of impacting the flow of ideas on a thread.

It is possible that my personal preference influences my judgement, as much as I try to view this with an open mind. I always read the posts from the jerks as well as the rest. My reading speed has increased dramatically.

JMHO I have been wrong many times before.
