To: Cogito Ergo Sum who wrote (24087 ) 3/12/2022 9:35:06 AM From: Rarebird Respond to of 37054 I stated yesterday that I am socially conservative, but economically/fiscally liberal. I have said many times that I support universal healthcare in USA, along with free quality education for children of families earning under 125K a year. This is the plan in effect in NYS and I support that. I do not support UBI to the extent you probably do because I believe that people should work. There is a saying, " you make your bed, and you should live in it." Now I understand some people are disabled or sick and cannot work. That's why there is welfare and disability payments. I am considered a liberal in USA. I am all for free trade, a Globalist. I was very against tariffs to China, EU, Australia and Canada. I am not into labels. In some ways I am progressive; in other ways probably not. I find you to be a radical liberal, fiscally speaking. I don't see how you can call yourself conservative, supporting universal healthcare, free quality education and UBI. Those three things you support make you extremely liberal in USA. Maybe Canada is way radical left to begin with. I don't fit a mold, politically speaking. My first wife had an abortion because she wanted a girl rather than another boy and I was devastated by it. I told her I'd rather she be killed and the baby live. Of course, I didn't do it because I did not want to go to prison. But I lost a lot of respect for her based on that decision. She said our relationship was 50/50, but since she is carrying the baby, she makes the decision. I never forgive her for the decision. I remarried shortly after she passed away and am very happy today. My second wife is more traditional and not self-centered whatsoever.
