Do you think those wascally wussians writing that treaty knew that? Maybe they got some insights from Zero Hedge. I hear they are in the tank for Russia and Putin. Message 33715755
This, I think, has a funny aspect. Imo, it’s a way to negotiate some extra territory for Donetsk and Luhansk. Those areas are pretty small - in order to have a 140km security zone, they’d have to be a bit larger :)
Washington won our independence by holding out just long enough. Canada kept their British Dominion by holding out just long enough (War of 1812 - sorry Canada - you didn't win that one). The US kept our British dominators away for a second time by holding on just long enough (War of 1812).

The difference this time is that Ukraine has already lost the territory that Russia and the new republics want and Ukraine as a country isn't losing any more than that. It is really NATO and the Western oligarchs who are losing more when this is over - more potential security extortions, if Russia gets its stated goal. What is really wrong is when the Western oligarchs team up with Western governments. Ten percent crew.

I guess they want to be like Canada in 1815 and keep their friendly dominators? Not sure if they know what they are asking for. Well, maybe Zelenskyy does, if the report about his bank account and Florida property are correct. (Treaty of Ghent was 1814, but it wasn't really over until this was signed in 1815.)
