Speaking of discrimination, we hired very few people over 40. Part of it was the higher costs of benefits. Part of it was I didn't want to hear about people's family issues, problems, illnesses, and part of it was I needed people who were very hard working and not bringing baggage of how they used to have things this way or that way at their old jobs.

Yeah, you'd have been great, but you couldn't get past my biases back then. I'd be different now.

I think our 401k plan was automatic 2%, plus 50% match on the next 6%. If you maxed it out, you'd get 11% of your income in the plan every year, with 5% of it coming from the company.

Oh, you also got me as the fund manager <G>
