I have many set orders at low prices based on many things. If/when they fill it alerts me to start to average in based on market. That happened to be a day where everything sold off (close to 900 pts down) and the market looked to my like it would sell lower. Never happened, so I ended up w/ one share.

I bought one share of DE 2/24/2022 for $328.87/share

Last $400.12 +22% since my buy
Would be more money in your pocket if you bought like 30 shares which is still less than a 1% position for a 7 figure portfolio. I am guessing that most old timers have that much in investible assets.

I can set price alerts with my IB and other brokerage accounts that trigger a text once a stock trades below or above a certain price.
