WFoL, I'm not surprised. We Koreans these days are pretty soft compared to the previous generation, who's lived through war and through several American puppet regimes before finally adopting democracy. Plenty of Korean youth these days are "woke" and take all of their first world luxuries for granted. And yes, every male in Korea must serve two years (maybe less these days?) in the military. But these days, the mandatory military service, I hear, is a lot easier than it used to be. Definitely nowhere near the level of training and skill that, for example, Israelis have to go through.
