With today's high speed computers, stochastics and bollingers bands become a cinch. The computer already has the closing price data and all all the computer needs to know is how many periods you want to make the calculation for and for bollinger bands how many standard deviations you want to use. In a fraction of a second you have a plot in front of you. In the Window On Wall Street software I use it also allows me to pick individual price bar days and it tells me the exact values for stochastics and bollinger bands it calcuated for that day. If I had to do this by hand, I'd only be able to follow a few companies. Thanks for your question. There are no "ignorant" questions here.
