I would recommend using SuperCharts for TA software, but I recently bought Window On Wall Street to see just why it was so popular. It seems to be solid, though I don't quite know all the features yet. Also, MetaStock seems to be quite popular, and I like the fact that it better integrates itself into Windows applications than SuperCharts. W.O.W. also integrates itself well, from what I hear.

From the group, SuperCharts is the most expensive, followed by MetaStock, and then W.O.W.

For the data service, Dial Data is not so bad. If you're not interested in index data, then Prophet Data Services might be worth a try. Their prices are about 30% lower than Dial Data's. Their index information doesn't seem to match up with the symbol lists provided in SuperCharts.

Good luck,

Rainier
