Very interesting link. Xoma's results perhaps highlight the need for a different way to value entrepreneurial activities. Many of the factors just do not apply, like P/E for instance. What would be very interesting would be to examine ratings based on Microsoft of 1981, or of Amgen of the same time period. I think if this data existed it would prove my point about valuation difficulties re entrepreneurial firms and cast doubt on VectorVest's valuation algorithm re this type of firm. This is not to cast doubt on their algorithm in general, just bio-techs without developed products.
