mr. childers. are you also specstock?if so, then it was your comments that raised doubts in my mind about refr. they were certainly dispelled after talking to the folks at msc. as far as ge goes, mr. saxe told me(at the display luncheon in sfo last summer) that the two people at ge responsible for the license have both left ge. i was still a little bewildered by that comment(if this was that great an opportunity some one there should have picked up this program). mr. harary answered that the other night . ge wanted uv treatment, which they now have, and second source suppliers, which they nearly have, i believe that hankuk has solved most of the production problems and are working on large scale-ups.it is obvious to me that the introduction of new particles, with different properties and colors, will certainly require a new round of tests, orcolite has introduced prototype goggles in just a few short months. im sure that sunglasses with small batteries can't be that far behind, or too terribly difficult for them to develop. we are talking about some of the biggest and most respected manufactures of films, glass, and consumer products in the world that all seem to be saying that they want to develop products with this technology, and seem to be backing this up with people, resources, and money.as far as the windows going dark if the power fails-well that could happen. i don't have a really good answer, other than don't use this in all your windows. months ago some one raised that very issue. they were talking about what do you do during a fire in a high rise building if all the electricity goes out and all the windows become dark.the response was break a window if things are that bad.
