Looks like all this is strictly for show. Zelensky keeps calling for negotiations, but refuses to accommodate even the “minimal” Russian demands. Instead of agreeing to neutrality, he demands NATO security guarantees - which means de facto NATO membership… refuses to recognize Crimea. Threatens that if negotiations fail it will be WWIII. Lavrov implies, basically, that the US determine Zelensky’s “thinking”.

Looks like if this doesn’t change, Prez Z may buy his voters a very dangerously escalating war on their home soil.
