"6) A friend of mine (he works at Olde) swears that over 3M SuperDisks have shipped. This can't be right but I can't find anything on it. Anybody have some data?"

HAHAHHAHA Wouldn't put to much "stock" into the quality of research available to a broker at Olde (unless they are utilizing resources outside of the firm). Willing to bet that he has been there less than 2 years. Willing to bet that 80% of their brokers have been there for less than 2 years. With that in mind, I think the firm has been around for 15 or 20 years or something like that..

Nothing against your friend, great opportunity to get your feet wet and your Series 7.

Re: >>> 2) Assuming that Buz and Jaz2 actually ship around the middle of this month, how much could this add to this quarter's revenues? I could see Buz adding $50-70 million, but I don't know what to think about Jaz2. . .<<<

Brent, I don't have my notes handy, but I believe KE mentioned the estimated $ impact of the delays in the last CC. You might read back through the CC text.

>>>3) I expect SyJunk's earnings (losses) to make it clear that the company isn't going to make it. Shouldn't this have a positive impact on IOM?<<<

While I certainly expect Syquest to report a loss for last quarter, I would think that most everyone else does too. I believe their status comments on SparQ, SyJet and Quest will be what moves their stock. IMO, there is a greater possibility for a (small) negative impact on IOM if they report very strong unit sales, regardless of their earnings loss.

Regards - Dale

Ruling by German Court:

Frankfurt Court Grants Iomega's Request for New Ex Parte Preliminary Injunction Against Boeder In Germany

ROY, Utah--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 9, 1998--Iomega Corp. (NYSE:IOM) announced Monday that on Feb. 6, 1998, the Landgericht Court in Frankfurt, Germany, granted Iomega's request for a new ex parte preliminary injunction against Boeder, a private labeler of the XHD disk manufactured by Nomai S.A.

Iomega has initiated legal proceedings in several countries based on statements made on XHD packaging and advertising that Iomega believes are false or misleading with respect to the Zip drive compatibility of XHD disks.

Iomega's latest request for a preliminary injunction in Frankfurt was based on the misleading "Zip-compatible" statement in a Boeder press release issued in Germany on Feb. 5, 1998.

According to Iomega, not only did Boeder's misleading statement provide grounds for a new preliminary injunction, it also violated Boeder's binding agreement given in German court just one day earlier to refrain from making such statements.

Violation of the new preliminary injunction issued on Feb. 6 is subject to a fine of up to DM500,000 or imprisonment of the managing directors of Boeder for up to six months.

"Iomega cares about protecting its customers and the information they rely on to do their jobs or manage their lives," said Kim B. Edwards, Iomega's president and chief executive officer. "We are also careful to make truthful statements about Iomega products. We will be vigilant in requiring others to live up to that standard as well."
